The Jupiter 2 must be part of the Doctor Who universe. The only conceivable way they could have fit the pod and the chariot into the lower deck with the living quarters was if they used TARDIS technology to make it larger on the inside than it was on the outside.

To say _nothing_ of the engineering deck and the cargo hold.
