rumors of strong rifts between the Fox studio and Wolverine director.

maybe this has something to do with the Watchmen?

Xmen and X2 where great films but since X3 sucked maybe Fox isn't Faux like its sibling tv network and maybe the studios has a point?

Has Gavin Hood created problems?

Collider is reporting that extensive reshoots for X-Men Origins: Wolverine are underway in Vancouver. The article states that director Gavin Hood had a difficult time on the set the first go-around, as Fox executives undermined his authority and micromanaged the shooting. Rumor has it Richard Donner was even on set working in some capacity.

If the rumors of reshoots are true, this could be bad news for the movie. Reshoots tend to mean that the original cut of the movie is crap, and the studio in charge is scrambling to fix it. Hood is said to be at the helm of the reshoots, so hopefully he’ll get to make the movie the way he intended. And hopefully it won’t suck.

Well, reshoots can mean the movie was crap as first cut or it can mean that there's amendments to be made to make it even greater. Remember, Joss ditched an Oscar winning Actress and the original composer from Serenity and that turned out pretty darn good.

Not to be negative, but reshoots late in the game RARELY are an improvement unless they're very minor. Although Joss DID change one of the cast members of FIREFLY, it's not uncommon for a cast member to change during (or even after) the pilot of a TV show.

Hopefully, WOLVERINE will be decent, but the news item does indeed shed doubt.
