Okay, I may be a little late to the party on this one, but I just found out about http://www.cinematictitanic.com/ , which is MST3K creator Joel Hodgson's latest round of riffing on movies.

Cinematic Titanic features Joel, Trace, TV's Frank, J Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo), and MaryJo Pehl (Pearl), and they're back at what they do best - making fun of really horrible movies.

Check 'em out. I'm ordering DVDs ASAP.

Oh, and Mystery Science Theater 3000 - The Movie is back in print and back in stock. Good to hear, since original DVD copies were selling at around the $150 mark not long ago. I loves me some MST, but I ain't paying $150 for it!

The movie wasn't that good anyway, so yeah, $150 is definitely a bit too much.

I know of Cinematic Titanic, but haven't seen anything yet. From the website, it looks like they've only done three movies so far.

Has somebody tried RiffTrax already? It's Mike's new project, where one watches a movie and plays the audio file of Mike making fun of it at the same time. I've only seen (or rather, heard) clips of it, but it didn't seem to be that funny. Am I wrong? Did I just happen to catch the unfunny bits?

I loved it. It was like the show, only MORE. And they got to use fart jokes, and refer to the aliens' home planet as a "real shit-hole".

Very juvenile. And very funny. Not $150 funny, though. Amazon has it new for $14.99, which I'd gladly pay.

For me, though, Warrior of the Lost World was pretty much the high point of MST3K. That movie was amazing in its badness, and it had all the elements a really awful movie needs: Donald Pleasence, Persis Khimbattah, Robert Ginty, Fred Williamson... and MEGAWEAPON!!!
