Over the course of the last few years I have lamented the fact that I could not find Flash Gordon on DVD here in the U.S. After much frustration the stars have finally aligned, one of my favorite sci-fi films will be getting a new DVD release in August. Everyone, Flash ahhhhhh, savior of the universe! Man I am going to be broke by autumn with all the DVDs coming out over the next few months.

About damn time. It's full of cheese, some bad acting on the lead role's part, and the special effects were not so great even then, but MAN you gotta love Max Von Sydow as Ming, Vuclan that lovely feathered birdbrain, The Prince (who I had a major crush on) oh hell, ALL the characters. And the football scene with the melons, Dale cheering him on "Go Flash go. Go Flash go." The Princess trying to seduce Flash in the shuttle while he's talking to Dale "Man she's really turning me on", The Professor..... AND THE MUSIC. Queen at their best (and I have the orginal album, we're talkin' vinyl folks) As well as the book version.

Oh, I'm gonna get a lot of good prezzies this year.
