Dude. The BBC actually postpones stuff?!?

Over here they'd just join the ep "already in progress," after hacking off the first 45-50 minutes.

Then they'd see the really low ratings, decide that the show must suck, and cancel it.

I generally try not to think bout sports, but when it interferes with my routine.. yeah the hate grows. No sport was ever postponed.

well, ahem.... not sticking up for sports in general, but actually baseball games get rained out quite often, as a matter of fact the games in Cleveland were snowed out this past weekend....

ok postponed because of weather.. i see how that might be an issue for sports fans.... really I do. But not for a tv show. If there is an example of this I would really like to hear it.
I remember when I was a kid and they postponed the children's programs for such things as election programs, cup finals in football (soccer) and (at least at that time in life, no wait, I still think elections and sports are boring) boring stuff. Pissed me off, so my sympathies to the Dr. Who fans.

Well at the end of the day it did finish on time, and no bloody "analysis" either.

But one was hacked off before it was over. You've heard of the 'Heidi Bowl' haven't you?

But...yeah, sports just play havoc with normal programming. CBS just runs everything late. i spent most of this year not being able to watch 'Without a Trace' when it was shown as it was habitually running 20-35 minutes late due to sports earlier in the day.

Other networks aren't a nice. There's an episode on season 7 Buffy I never saw as it was pre-empted by basketball...both for it's initial run and the repeat. And that's not all, the station advertised that they would run it the following Sunday afternoon, but then actually played it 12 hours prior to that. Both times.

And I remember as a kid a number of shows that were never seen where I lived as they got bumped in favor of baseball and were canned before October.

Sports should have *always* had their own station.
