Yeah, so Lucas is releasing the movies "early" but only the "special editions."

I don't feel like getting into a whole Lucas rant right now, just reportin the news. But personally, as it stands now, I wouldn't be buying the DVDs, at least right away. The way Lucas releases "new editions" of Star Wars, it wouldn't really surprise me if a few months of patience would be rewarded with a DVD set with both editions on the disc.

To commemorate the release of the DVD's in September, Hasbro is releasing newly sculpted action figures on vintage style "blister cards". The packing will be exact reproductions of the original designs from 1978-1983 with the original Kenner logo. These figures are scheduled to be in stores in either June or July.

"They cancelled my friggin' show!" Joss Whedon after learning that WB cancelled Angel.
