Just got back from seeing this. I liked it. Good popcorn movie, witty writing, and increasingly ridiculous stunts.

And I think Al was miscast. They obviously wanted Alan Tudyk. The character was basically Wash, complete with Hawaiian shirt. Best character in the movie, bar none.

AURAPTOR

America loves a winner!

Is it safe to say that Sahara, as an action/adventure film was partly responsible for moving the release date of Serenity, another action/aventure film? I'm not trying to make the comparison between the 2 movies as if they were Deep Impact and Armageddon, but to the average moviegoer out there who just wants to be entertained and doesn't know a whole lot about each movie before buying the ticket, wouldn't one seem about as good a choice as the other ?

Just playing devil's advocate.

" They don't like it when you shoot at 'em. I worked that out myself. "

Yeah, actually. Heck, even knowing the differences, I was still seeing enough similarities. This could very well have been the competition Universal was worried about. If so, I'm glad they moved the date; Sahara is a fairly good film and deserves a fightin' chance, as does our beloved Serenity.

You know, I've been thinkin about going to see this, its been a while since I saw anything popcorny, and sometimes ridiculous stunts can be good. Right thats my Saturday night organised then.

"This movie may be a beautiful butterfly, but I loved that damn caterpillar." Joss Whedon.
