In all that time, none of the 'team' members intentionally or randomly crossed paths with each other ? And other stuff too, but all in all, it still wasn't as bad as B.E. This movie was watchable. Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen I'm just a red pill guy in a room full of blue pill addicts. If the aliens are so advanced then why wouldn't they program them to obey and not venture beyond the designated area? Just one of many questions! SGG

Once that happened, he was 'himself' again.Quote: Yes, the main theme, IMHO, was that the "true self" or "soul" came through the cloning process, and, in this case, that was brought forth by the power of love (the love he had for his wife). The reason why, for me, it was not a good plot device was that it wasn't properly set up. Maybe too, it wasn't a good plot device to begin with. Notice too that his companion in the tower was also "aware" that something was amiss with Jack, it's as if she knew he was still in love with his wife. It's suggested that Victoria was in love with him aboard the ship prior to their capture and subsequent cloning. They never delve into her thoughts in the movie, but her actions suggest that perhaps this was so. I only caught the part where they first encountered each other. Quote:He lowers the Binocs, glances upwards to where one of the HUGE RESOURCE GATHERERS blots out half the sky, breath- taking. It's hovering over what is left of a subsided harbor, a few blasted and rusted hulks of ships. The water level has dropped by a kilometer. The Gatherer is sucking up salt water, harvesting the elements essential to create DEUTERIUM, "Heavy Hydrogen." At the top of the giant machine, Drones work tirelessly, ferrying containers of Deuterium energy up into the sky. Jack raises the Binocs, snaps a few photographs...
Quote: JACK's ship emerges from a canyon into a beautiful landscape we have never seen before. This is Jack's SECRET PLACE. TREES exist on an island surrounded by clean water.

Quote:And when Jack as Tech 49 flying Bubbleship 52 visits Tower 52, Vika 52 talks to him, keeps glancing at his outfit right where the 49 insignia is located, but never mentions it. Does Vika 52 understand he is Tech49 - does not seem likely, she isn't that smart. Maybe the story should have had him switch tops with Tech52, but that never happened and he is still showing 49 on his top while in Tower 52.
Quote: Wouldn't Julie have shown it to him? Or was it taken by Mitch's crew to the hideout, and then when they grabbed Julie & Jack, or later?

The '49 insignia' is obscured by dirt and a folded flap when Vika 52 is talking to him. She doesn't see the number clearly. Also, Tower 52 is similar but different than Tower 49, and so are its Jack and Vika. The clones are programmed with just enough minimum intelligence to do their daily jobs and live as happy content couples. They don't have inquisitive minds. That's what makes Jack 49 different and special.
