Was listening to the commentary on Shindig, and I just noticed that the sword 'Ath' is using looks remarkably like the one Inigo Montoya had in the Princess Bride. Unfortunately, I don't have that DVD -- can anyone who has both DVDs check?

RIVER
Purple elephants are flying.
MAL
Good. Thanks for the update.

Besides, "Ath's" sword is a broadsword and not a rapier.

Corection: Make that a cut-and-thrust sword instead of a broadsword

The broadsword would've made for a pretty interesting duel, though.

Just for the record, Mal uses a model 1860 Cavalry sabre, but you probably know that.

I just had a flash of Mal cutting Ath in half, like Liam Neeson did to Tim Roth in Rob Roy.

It's been a while since I've seen that, though. I don't remember what kind of swords they were using, though it wouldn't surprise me to find out a claymore was involved. Lord knows Neeson's big enough to handle one.
