ok, this is cool to me.
The guy who wrote the novelization of serenity has written and will publish two more original books based in the firefly 'verse. These will be more stories about our favorite crew.
In cooler news, Steven Brust, writer of the phoenix series (read it if you haven't) has also written an original novel and submitted it for publishing. So, two are guarenteed and one is a maybe. More will come if they are successful... and we will make them successful.

Wash: Yeah, but psychic? That sounds like science fiction.
Zoë: You live on a spaceship, dear.
Wash: So?

We will make them successfull as long as the are coherent and not complete gos se.

Then we will spam bomb the authors and publishers until they are good.

go to the firefly wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Firefly_tv

And i think we should make them successful even if they are Dong (sorry, i'm half korean, i have to cuss in korean because if my late grandmother ever found out i cussed in chinese, she would haunt me)
because
1) the revenue make firefly more valuable
2) the more we buy the more authors write the stories, imagine like star wars where the best of sci fi take a swing at it, perhaps even other crews of other ships.

Zoë: You live on a spaceship, dear.

MRBEN

Last I heard Keith DeCandido (sp?) had only submitted a proposal, along with a number of writers, for the second 2 novels that were optioned by Universal, and that they had not come back with a confirmation.

Additionally, in his interview on 'The Signal' ( http://www.serenityfirefly.com) he definitely said that he had only submitted a proposal for 1 of the 2 novels, and not both.

If you have more up-to-date info, can you please provide a link to the source?

Also, KRAD (a.k.a. DeCandido) posts here and over at Ex Isle (where I lurk, ninja-like), and has mentioned nothing about confirmation.

While more novels are supposedly on the way, I don' think any authors have been nailed down. Surely we would have heard from KRAD if he had been approved.

Wikipedia? Not always the most reliable source for information.

"Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government."
