I heared a rumor that Firefly has been picked up by UPN on tuesday night at 8pm. It will take Buffy's place Next TV Season. I hope this rumor is true.

you know, this guy might be blowin' smoke up our skirts, but that is the ABSOLUTE BEST idea that I can imagine.

Pick it up now for UPN and start production on the second half of season one... start showing re-runs of the Fox shows in summer 2003 and start up with second new shows in October... run right thru till May with NO RE-RUNS.

Make me a network exec....

Do you have a verifiable source for that rumor?

I have seen rumors posted elsewhere that seem to be just wishful thinking on someone's part or possibly an attempt to sabotage the Save Firefly effort.

Until I hear anything from an official (verifiable) source, I'm continuing with the postcard campaign. I would hope that everyone else would do the same.

You Know your right, but i heared it off of certian websites, but i heard UPN confrimed that Firefly will be on tuesday night at 8:OOpm.

GOT IT! Brtick is right, TVTome does mention something about it at http://www.tvtome.com/Firefly/ ,stating:

As for what zapit2it is, a google search only returns its reference on the TVTome page. But of course, we all know that they mean zap2it.com.

And as for the quality of the information on TVTome, I would label it as hit or miss. I mean, if you check out their page at http://www.tvtome.com/features/roundup0203.shtml and look at the listing for FireFly under all FOX shows, you'll find that they still have it labelled as "TBD" for To Be Decided, not cancelled.

As TVTome's writers are all volenteers who can just about write anything that they want to, I would say that the definitive "yes" for the UPN move is still a while away.

We're hopeful that UPN will pick it up but that's all it is. Hope. We don't know what's going to happen.

I guarantee to you that, as soon as Tim has some word one way or the other, you'll hear me shouting it from the rooftops. Not to mention on the website.

As much as I'd love love LOVE for this to be true, it's just so much BS. For several reasons: 1) (most important) Buffy hasn't been cancelled yet! 2) UPN will put the Buffy spin-off in the Tuesday night at 8:00 spot (if a spinoff is in the cards), as they've implied in the past 3) Scheduling of *anything* won't happen until the TV convention in July/August.

I really wish this was more than an unsubstantiated rumor, but that's all it is... unsubstantiated rumor. A more viable time slot would be at 9:00 on Tuesdays... I'd have almost have had faith if the rumor was 9:00 instead of 8:00.

Yeah; it's probably bogus. I checked Zap2it.com, and their most recent Firefly article is the "Joss is still shopping for a home" -type thing.

The paper I work at also subscribes to Zap2it's wire service. I checked that, just to be sure -- nada, tostada.
