Let me start by saying that I LOVED SERENITY! My only regret is that I didn't see it in theaters. That said i felt it important to post to this site for the first time, and i'll probably get myself the cyber equivelent of being chased out with pitchforks for saying this but I didn't think it deserved a visual effects nod. They used what they had superbly but the technology couldn't stand up to other films. On top of that the academy hates sci-fi. Sci-fi movies just don't win oscars. Episode IV got a bunch of nods and awards so we probably can't expect another sci-fi movie to come that close until at least 2077
