Yes, according to the toy geeks at Toyfare magazine, the Actual, Factual BDM toys will be coming out this summer, with Mal, Jayne and a Reaver heading up the bunch. No pix available yet, but I'm hoping for magnetic accesories and a to-scale Serenity.

I can just visualize some interesting scenarios now:

Jayne and Vera vs. Darth Vader

Han and Chewie repelling Reaver ships

Transformers vs. the alliance

What do you think?

But hey, in the 80's G.I. Joe got the USS FLAGG aircraft carrier, and that thing was 7 feet long!

So it has been done.

If not a to-scale model, perhaps linking playsets? The cargo bay could come with a winch, the Mule, assorted boxes, hidden "smuggler's compartments" and a special "River in a box" figure.

I'd at least like Jayne to come with a nice big variety of guns.

Was that the big gray thing with those weird red missiles on the top and about 20 rooms? I think my cousin had one of those. I was so jealous.

More on topic though, wouldn't it be cool to have voice chips in the figures like the Simpsons toys? And they could say different things depending on what location on the ship the figures were. You just KNOW Joss would have some easter-eggy fun with that stuff. Maybe if you put the Inara figure in the "Mal's Bunk" area, she'd say "You stupid son of a...." :D

uh, i kind of doubt this would ever happen. not only would it cost a fortune to purchase but i am not sure there would be a great market for it. of course, you could be half joking and i am taking this way too seriously....

it would be pretty cool, though. i would settle for a little toy version.
