New cover for Serenity Novelization

I was looking on amazon.com and saw that the serenity novel has a cover now. I assume it's the official cover, not sure where amazon.com gets their images. But looking at it really closely I saw someone with blond hair standing to the right of River. Who is it? It's not Wash, and I don't think it was in the original image that we saw a month or two ago. Am I just seeing things or is this some sort of spoiler? (If it is, don't tell me who it is, I want to be spoiler free)

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

They don't have a link to a larger version of the image like they do with most books and videos, so there is no way to tell. Hard to say if that is the official cover or not, book won't be released until Sept. 1. Other than the person to the right of Summer, the rest of the image is one that has been posted at several sites before.

That isn't the real cover according to Keith (the author). He mentioned this months ago.

That is just another promo shot. The person in question was a woman who won some contest and got to be an extra for a day.

That cover has been exposed as a fake. I imagine they'll come up with something a little more exciting for the actual release.

It looked like a Photoshopped fake cover, base don the fact that it uses an one of the few images we've seen. And the fact that they don't have a full sized image confirms that theory. I was just curious, especially becuase I assumed that amazon.com didn't post fake images for their products.

As I've said eight thousand times, this is the solicitation cover. A cover is always produced early on so the book can be solicited. Normally, that's easy enough to do, however, the cover art on a movie novelization is generally the movie poster, or something close to it, and that art is almost never ready in time to make the solicitation cover.

The cover that is up on Amazon is the solicitation cover, using a publicity photo. It's temporary and will not be on the book.

Eight thousand times? I would have stopped couting after two or three thousand personally.

Lighten up Keith. Some people don't check out the older threads and miss info like this from time to time. It happens. As the fan base continues to grow I am sure you will get the chance to answer this question again. Repeatedly.
