HELLO -1ST TIME POSTER-LONG TIME LURKER-GREAT SITE FOR THE BEST SHOW-HOWEVER ONE THING IS SOMEWHAT BOTHERING ME ABOUT THE BDM-IN INTERVIEWS JOSS HAS STATED THAT THE MOVIE WILL START BEFORE THE SERIES TOOK PLACE&ABOUT 8MONTHS AFTER THE SHOW ENDED-BUT I CAN'T HELP BUT THINK THAT IT(BDM)MIGHT HAPPEN AS IF THE WHOLE SERIS HAD NEVER HAPPENED-I KNOW THAT JOSS HAS TO BRING IN NEW VIEWERS AND ALL BUT I HOPE THAT IT RESPECTS WHAT HAS BEEN BUILT UPON IN THE SERIES -I HOPE THAT THIS MAKES SENSE

I very much doubt Joss would ignore the history of the series. Besides didn't he already intimate that the movie is set 6 months after the series? Presumably the 'starting before the series' bit is to do with the start of the movie only i.e. a flashback.

Hey, nitram! Welcome to the board.

Don't worry about the caps lock thing too much. We all make mistakes, with the exception of a few regulars who never make mistakes, but are perfect-
-ly annoying on purpose, *cough*Purplebelly*sneeze*.

As to the question you asked, I speculated over in the "Best Screencap" thread that Joss might take us back to the aftermath of the Battle of Serenity -- as described by Zoe in The Most-Debated Deleted Scene -- as a means of introducing Mal's character to new viewers. Such a scene would cover the bases for the new viewers, yet still be good for us long-time fans as well, would it not?

I don't profess to know the mind of Herr Whedon (Evil Genius), but he did say he'd worked hard to keep it fresh for us, while introducing them to the Firefly mindscape. I'm certain Serenity will be amazing for all of us: In Joss we trust.

I would not worry about the BDM too much. As Grounded stated above the opening sequence of the movie will most likely be some sort of flashback to establish the characters and why they are no Serenity.

Now, get out there and convert all your friends and family to Browncoats as well.
