OK...I'm sure this has prolly been discussed at some point before, but as somewhat recent inductee to this site, I haven't seen it so...

Does anyone know what kind of weapons the Alliance security personnel use? Specifically, the rifles they commonly use. Are they sonic (i.e. low frequency ultrasound) or kinetic, or what? Every time I see an episode with them I wonder.

It looks almost like a kinetic weapon as it seems to throw the victem and they double over like taking a punch to the gut but a friend of mine seems to think ultra-low frequency sound could have a similar effect.

Ideas?
