If red dwarf can get a ripping good comeback after nine years, there's still some hope for Firefly.

Sorry to say.. Red Dwarf didnt have a "ripping good comeback". It was tired and somewhat painful to watch at times.

Actually, the comeback is still coming. There was a special that was aired a little while back which prompted an ordering of another series. Whether it'll be 'ripping good' remains to be seen. But, it is, apparently, coming back.

That said, there are *a lot* of differences between Red Dwarf and Firefly that make the comparison very very bad.

The "special" was actually 3 episodes and constitutes the beginning of a comeback imo.

but yeah.. Red Dwarf and Firefly are chalk and cheese..

I know. They are calling it series 9 even though 3 eps, IMO, hardly comprise a series. But, whether it actually is a comeback or not remains to be seen.
