The Chicagoland Browncoats hosted the Firefly/Blue Sun Party at Capricon XXIV in Arlington Heights, IL, this past weekend.

We held viewing parties by day and groovy Blue Sun parties by night. Photos from the Blue Sun Party are at:

All of the fun, hard work and sleep deprivation paid off big time! The con attendees voted to give the Best Theme Party Award to the Firefly/Blue Sun Room.

Not only is this great exposure and a very shiny thing for Firefly, but it seemed that the Capricon community really appreciated our efforts. We can't wait to top our efforts next year!

As far as we know, this is the first
convention-related award for the Firefly fandom. And if we're mistaken, let us know! It's always great to hear about all the good things that have come from Firefly.

If you'd like ideas for holding your own Blue Sun Party at a con, post here. We'd be happy to help.

Very cool pics. Looks like everyone had a great time at the Con.

I am hoping we can organize something like this at Dragon Con in Atlanta this year.

Hmmm... that gives me a great costume idea for DunDraCon, which is approaching all too soon for President's Day weekend...

History doesn't always repeat itself. Sometimes it merely shouts "Weren't you listening the first time?!?" and lets fly with a club.
