Joel over at Hijinks Ensue (one of the shiniest webcomics in the 'verse) has done a great Calvin and Hobbes/Firefly crossover comic. Of course, most of his comics are great, and the rest are merely really good.

Take my advice - start at the beginning, and read them all! There are a few more Firely references to be found.
