Just went to the local Best Buy (San Carlos, CA) and asked them to look up FireFly (I do this in every store I pass that sells DVDs just to keep the 'buzz' going), and up on the computer screen it showed they were down to their last 4 copies, but they had ordered over 1,000 more!!! Go FireFly!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Did they perchance tell you how many they had sold to date? 1,000 copies? Is that nationwide, as I assume one store would not purchase a 1,000 copies of anything but a blockbuster movie?

Being that it's San Carlos, which is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, I wouldn't be surprised if they ordered that many. Maybe it was to split between two or three stores? Or people were buying multiple sets to give as gifts?
In contrast, in Las Vegas, one Blockbuster (in a more upscale part of town) got an initial order of 6. Which they sold out quite quickly.
I was told that they were expecting 2 more sets after the holidays.
Either way, I'm wondering what Fox is making of the sales of the DVD set of a show they treated so badly?
weasles.

I saw the 1,000 (actually it was something like 1,042 for some reason) on the screen when she showed me they had a bunch more on order, and I assumed she meant for the store although maybe it was for the region, I'm not sure. It's a pretty big store, but you may be right 1,000 seems like a lot to keep in inventory for a single store.
