I'm not new to the Firefly verse but I am new to this site. Are there any plans for a series of novels if they aren't going to do a movie, or even if they are? I think the firefly verse could make for very interesting reading and nearly neverending.

you're here. We still have a few giant berries
here on the ramp, and there's a mug of Milk for
you, too. Stow your stuff and come up the scary
stairs to the galley for buffet goodies.

Only wish we knew what's in store for the SereniFly
franchise. Joss is up to here in work on things
like Wonder Woman and Goners, and as far as we
know there're no money-people expressing a hankering
for more 'Fly, so your guess is as good as ours.

I'm sure if there's news it will spread like fire
throughout the 'Verse, including here, so stay
with us and participate in 'coaty stuff.

MaraJSkywalker, welcome to FFF.net. It is a friendly group here. We like to chat about what might be coming from Joss about the 'verse. He is busy right now, so it will be awhile, but he has mentioned that if someone (with money) asks him to do more about the 'verse, he'll be there.

As mentioned, Joss has talked about new comics that will be coming, but if you need more stories about the 'verse you can always check out fanfics in the "Blue Sun Room" of this site.

If you ever need anything, get on the Cortex and send us a wave. There is always someone around.

Thus far it's only the comics in the official pipeline, but. . . someone-whose-name-I-can't-recall (not KRAD[*], but another novelist) has written a Serenity novel, and promised to release it as fanfic if the publishing deal goes pear-shaped.

I'm with you on the call for more books; I'm guessing from your handle that you're well aware of how a good "expanded universe" can add to a franchise.

(* KRAD = Keith R.A. Decandido, author of the Serenity movie novelization, and fellow Browncoat. KRAD is his username here and elsewhere online.)

The next official Firefly/Serenity release is the comic miniseries "Better Days," which I THINK starts in March.

In terms of fanfic, there's lots of stuff it you look, both in the Blue Sun Room and beyond. The folks over at Into the Black ( www.intotheblack.ca) are filming new 'Verse content (although will an all new crew), and just released a short Christmas special.

There are at least two fan-based projects dedicated to continuing the series. You can find the link for the one I'm head writer for in my signature. :) With our 21st episode airing tomorrow (which is also the one year anniversary of our first ep), we've got over 1000 pages of Firefly script for those who are interested!

The 'Verse is alive and well in the minds and hearts of both Joss and the Browncoats. We just need to hold the line until the studios realize they need to throw more money at him.
