Okay, the pirates and punsters duked it out and had a tie (see thread: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=23773 )

So, here's a thread just for the punsters so that the pirates may continue to cast fear into the hearts of folks both hither and yon, but the punsters shall be landlocked to this thread (to start, mind you.)

And speaking of starting....

Our Damn Heroes went planet side at Persephne after a particularly grueling job. They split up into groups for a bit, however all but Simon and River eventually ended up in a local tavern.

Sometime after his tenth round of mudder's milk, our merc spotted a vision of lovliness with long treses and a colourful skirt and decided loudly and boastfully to try his luck. He bet his companions he could win her within five minutes, unlike "that prissy core doctor." Wash took the bet and when Jayne tirned to try his hand, Wash pulled out a capture to the amusement of the remaining party.

He approached his dream and tried his best to win her favour, but when all his approaches didn't even elicit a response, he lost his temper and demanded to know why she wouldn't respond.

"Laddie, I prefer women ta men," said the Scotsman as he turned around, "but my friend, Fergus, may oblige ya if ye wishes to wait."

Jayne gaped, coughed and mumbled an excuse as he quickly left the tavern finally realising that his vision of lovliness was a man with unkept hair wearing a kilt.

Wash and the others leasurely finished their drinks and took the capture back for Simon and River, knowing they'd love to see Jayne err.
