Describe your trailer for Serenity...

I've seen a lot of comments here about how Universal's ad campaign (trailers, et. al.) didn't really communicate what Serenity was about, how almost anyone could have done better, and so on... I think it's time to put our reputations where our mouths are. What would YOUR Serenity trailer have looked like? I'll start:

[Open to shot of Old Earth with the spaceships leaving... the one used before the credits... some of the quieter, multicultural music from the sound track playing in the background]

Voiceover by Nathan Fillion in Mal Reynolds character: We had used up Earth That Was... couldn't live there no more. So we had to leave. Moved to another solar system with lots of planets made more or less Earthlike.

[Cut to scenes of different landscapes from movie... some cities, some frontier...]

Mal: The more developed planets served as home for the Alliance... the government that rules our new home.

[Cut to quick scene of Reaver(s) on the attack, heavy drum kicks]

Mal: Out on the fringes of the system are the Reavers... humans gone savage... walking death to anyone they come across

[Cut to external of Serenity, internal scenes of Serenity, the crew...back to the more serene music]

Mal: And in between... me and my crew on a ship named Serenity. Barely getting by doin' odd jobs... some legal, some not. The Alliance wants us 'cause of something we got that they want back.

[Cut to scene of River... Cut to scene of Operative walking through River's hologram... Cut to scene of Operative fighting Mal... drum kicks]

Mal: Now, we gotta get past the Reavers just to stay alive. If we make it back, the Alliance will have hell to pay...

[Heavy drums, action music, cut scenes of River kicking ass, crew in fistfights/gunfights, scenes from the climactic space conflict...]

[Quiet... cut to scene of Mal on the bridge of Serenity]

Mal: I guarantee they won't be expecting this!

[Fade to "Serenity" over Mandarin symbols for Serenity... screen dates just below]

Announcer voiceover: Serenity... in theaters, September 30.

[Fade to black... and out]
