My friend is buying the DVD tomorrow (I preordered on Amazon to help the numbers) and we're having a viewing party at her house, where I will promptly borrow the DVD jacket, scan it, drop in my art, and make color prints for everyone I know who has a copy. YEAH!

How do I know the R4 will play on my DVD player, it's new by the way... and where do I go to order one from Oz?

I have ordered 3(R1) from Amazon- all gifts to be sent directly to folks- and will purchase 5 bright and early tomorrow a.m. 1 for me, 1 for my Mom, 1 for the library and 2 for gifts. I will be ordering more, right after Christmas, as well as DVD sets of Firefly.

It won't, unless you have a multi-region player that can convert PAL to NTSC.

I intend to do that conversion on a PC (just the Australian extra features, since the movie itself is the same) and make a playable DVD of those extras.

One for me. One for my cousin's family (the one I took to the movie, plus her sister & parents [and a couple of cats]). One for a girl I know in Ottawa (who didn't get to it in theatres, despite my urging, but I can't stay mad at her anymore than I could at Kaylee --just too gorram cute).

That's three right there. Possibly more, depending on how many are available and at what price.

But: if I was a millionaire, I would buy many copies and give them to random people in the street who own DVD players.

I am, however, taking the day of work to host a viewing with my friends (all of them, save for one, hasn't seen it).
