I think everyone, fans, Universal and Fox would benefit if the Serenity dvd included on it two episodes of Firefly. My vote would go to Our Mrs Reynolds and War Stories because they're both so funny, well written, and in the case of War Stories, action packed. But just about any of the episodes would be great.

Pros for Universal:

Would increase sales of the dvd as gifts.

I'm hesistant to buy people the Serenity dvd as a gift because I know that even if they like the movie, they won't expect the series to be as good and likely won't give it a chance.

If I knew that by giving my friends the dvd as gifts, they would also be exposed to a couple of episodes of Firefly, I would be far more willing to do it.

It would also add more bonus content to the dvd to make the premium 29.99 price well worth it.

In addition, if more people get hooked on the series too and watch all the episodes, they'll be more likely to buy the Serenity promotional products that Universal will release.

Pros for Fox

If more people see that the show was as good as the movie, more people would go out and buy dvds of the tv show. And the more money Fox makes.

So the more exposure the tv series gets, the more money Fox makes via dvds.

It would also increase sales of the Firefly promotional products and such.

Plus it would be a show of good faith to the fans of Firefly/Serenity.

Pros for fans:

This would serve to show that the tv series the movie is based on is every bit as good as the movie itself so that fans could go out and give the dvds of the movies as gifts to try to get their friends to try out the series as well.

As for the dvd cover, I think it looks very action packed and can draw in people unfamiliar with the franchise to rent it.

But the DVD SHOULD INCLUDE MORE OF THE CRITICAL ACCLAIM THE MOVIE RECIEVED. So many famous critics had so many good things to say about the movie.

Putting these quotes on the dvd would show people that the movie is indeed very good and mainstream.

The pilot episode (AKA serenity)

Objects in Space

the reason I chose these 3 is because they are the most relevant to the film backstory

Do you know for a fact that the entire back of the case is not covered in wonderful quotes? Food for thought
