No falling for it required: this is the real deal.

Several of the cast recordings for game NPCs are already in the can and others are booked in. All 9 *are* on board with this, *plus* Michael Fairman reprising his role as Niska. So although this is not new TV or movie or even comics content, there will be new, in character, in (game) 'Verse performances by our favourite BDHs and at least one villian.

The launch has had to be revised as obviously there are a bajillion more shiny things to make happen now the crew are taking part, but they are still talking Spring 2015. We've waited this long....

There may be other surprises too :-)

That's actually to be expected, considering the sheer amount of waves their announcement would make.

They're an indy studio associated with Qmx, and it's going to be their first multiplayer online game. Companies new to that particular genre ALWAYS have user load issues right at the beginning because they always far underestimate how many people are going to flood them.

The fact that it's their WEBSITE failing, not just the game, is indicative of how much attention this is going to get. Hopefully they going to get the hint from this and make sure they have a LOT of servers ready to roll out.

Oh I understand - and absolutely correct that we've been here before and yes things could potentially still go tits up, life has a habit of turning into the explosive diarreah of an elephant, but this is a lot further along than anything else so far, so I'm as confident as I've ever been that this will work.

Game mechanics are done. Music (thanks for that link!) is done. Most of in game graphics and FX are done. If not for finally managing the previously impossible of getting the full cast in the studio, in character, in 'Verse, the game would have launched this year as planned. This late addition is *significant*, backed by Fox (as is the game has been from the start - it's *not* the same suits that cancelled the show who are responsible for licencing the property now) driven by fans of the show (QMx have *always* delivered on Serenity/Firefly merch). Hell, if we all gave up hope completely, we wouldn't even be here :-)

Registration overdemand is actually a good problem to have (and it's back up since Monday) - the publicity alone is valuable - and there will probably be a similar spike near launch next year (hopefully correctly judged) This has the potential to be epic fun, even in it's firt iteration.

I think it will be worth the extra wait to give the BDHs the in-game treatment that they deserve.

And, gorram it, we've had to learn patience (just as long as she doesn't try to shoot us again :-)

'Course we don't exactly have a choice about it.

I am excited about it, doubly since it was announced about the cast's participation.
But, honestly...I'm tired of being patient! I WANT IT NOW!!!
