Do you agree with our averages?

I copied and pasted all the episode averages on the front of the site. I'm surprised by some of them even though I know not all of them had the same amount of votes.

SERENITY 9.32
THE TRAIN JOB 8.34
BUSHWHACKED 7.94
SHINDIG 8.91
SAFE 8.80
OUR MRS. REYNOLDS 9.22
JAYNESTOWN 8.88
OUT OF GAS 9.47
ARIEL 9.32
WAR STORIES 9.00
HEART OF GOLD 7.87
OBJECTS IN SPACE 9.13
TRASH 9.14
THE MESSAGE 9.36

If it were my averages, Trash would be lowest but Heart of Gold, Jaynestown, Safe, etc would be higher for sure. I really don't think any Firefly episode is a 7 either. Maybe 8 and above.

America loves a winner!

I always have a tough time trying to rank my fav episodes in order. Out of Gas and Objects in Space, for me, go 1a and 1b, with OoG prob at the top. Beyond that, each ep has its own uniqe quality that I really like. I guess lower down on the list, I'd prob have to put 'Shindig', except I love the Book/ River interaction. "Bible's broke - too much hair!" So,it's tough for me to put ANY of them in last.

Actually, in general, I do agree with the consensus of the ratings. For my tastes, the margin of error looks to be about 0.5. Close enough for me.

Well, even if any of the episodes rated at 7's, take into consideration that 5 is average, decent. Anything under 5 would represent bad. Anything about 5 is above average. 7 is the mid-way between average and a perfect 10. 7 still rocks. And it's interesting to note that Firefly's lowest rated episodes are still a bajillion times better than a whole mess load of shows' best episodes.

Heart of Gold is so underrated...

I would have trouble ranking them all too, I think. Though I have always said War Stories is my #1; Ariel, Objects in Space, etc are near-perfection brilliant.
Trash has to be my least favorite (I like 'em all though, really) because YoSafBridge is SO GORRAM ANNOYING! And what about her gave anyone the idea that she was 'hot'? Because that's how she's represented. She's got nothing on the rest of the Serenity girls.

Tough call.

I guess the margin is tight enough to indicate how fond we all are of all the episodes. Shindig would be my least favourite, but only just.

Objects in Space would be favourite, but only just over Out of Gas.

It depends on my mood really.

My own favorites are Serenity, Out of Gas, and Objects in Space. I refuse to pick one from among them.

I liked Heart of Gold quite a bit.

But for me, Message was almost a disappointment. Aside from the extraordinary ending music, I think it is far inferior to the rest. Or maybe I just didn't like Tracy.
