Really?

To me he will just be another moronical twit who wasted what he had fiddleing around with a drug he had no business taking.

You wanna throw it away??? Fine. You won't see me being sad about it for one freaking second!

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

We have no idea what torments people so much they turn to drugs. He was a great actor whom I enjoyed in quite a few films. I am not so callous that I can forget what he has contributed just because his end was tragically unnecessary. He _will_ be missed.

Boredom. The inability to get satisfaction from the regular things in life. Drugs provide a temporary escape from the mundane.

What's also sad is if you look at photos taken not long before his death, he looks much older then 46. I picked one that looks a bit more flattering.

I'm sorry that you feel that way. I'm an ex theatre technical guy. I've worked with actors, good, bad, small-time, large-scale, hacks and geniuses. I knock them for the stuff they CAN'T do, like show up on time, keep track of their props, stay out of the way of moving scenery.

It's hard to do what they do. I couldn't do it, have tried, can't. It's hard on the nerves, the psyche, and the body chemistry.

A lot of 'em are crazy in some fashion or the other, neurotic or obsessed or too preoccupied to deal with normal life.

I'm sad that he seemed to be dealing with the world and his success, only to lose it because of a crutch that he used to try to survive it.

You now who I'm sad for??

He had three little kids. He is never going to be there for THEM. Walk 'em down the aisle, see them graduate.

He didn't think about the lives he was ruining, just his next fix.

Maybe THEY can't say "Fuck you dad" but SOMEONE should.

And as someone who is in hella pain right this minute, who is bored out of my mind, and REALLY damn tired of MY mundane responsibilities but you don't and won't see ME gorking out and getting high, 'Cuz I got a kid and it's my damn job.

He had a great job I'd kill for....

Stop feeling sorry for these dumb S.O.B.s.

THEY DON'T DESERVE IT.

I stand by what I said.

He was a TWIT.

TRAVELER

If you are born to be an addict, that's what will become of you. Very few escape it. Before AA the chances of staying sober was near zero. Now the chances are 10%. Not very good odds after all the years the medical professionals have had to study it. There is no cure.

From my personal experience, the film "Come Back Little Sheba" best portrays what fighting addiction is like. One day at a time. There is no promise what tomorrow will bring.
