Anyone else going to LoneStarCon3 next week? There are several Browncoat type activities.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.


I'd like to go, might make it, might not. I'm close enough, and I have the money, but too many other things going on that weekend, and work is so heavy I may be too tired to go or do anything. The only Worldcon I've ever attended, and then only for the first day, was LoneStarCon2 back in '97.

One of the main reasons I would like to go is to meet Norman Spinrad, one of my favorite writers. I have corresponded with him by email, and the page I wrote on him for my site is quoted on his wikipedia page.

Thursday, Aug. 29, 9pm - Theme Filk, Browncoats, Cowboys and Aliens

Friday, Aug. 30, 7pm - It's Time to Crowdsource a Firefly Movie
8pm - Firefly Shindig

Saturday, Aug. 31, 5pm - The Enduring Popularity of Firefly

I just got back from San Antonio and I'm watching the Hugo Awards now, that is when the stream doesn't freeze up, which it has been doing every five minutes or so from the beginning.

I did catch that The Avengers won the award for Best Dramatic Presentation, Long Form.
