Zoe and Mal is one of the relationships on Firefly that I would have liked to see explored more...because it wasn't on the show they didn't get enough time

Mal said that he and Zoe knew eachother from even before the war..but it was never explained....

Also Zoe and Mal seem to know eachother very well and they both have such amazing respect for eachother...

I'll never forget the scene in War stories when Zoe goes to retrieve Wash and Mal....and she tells the Nischa or whatever his name is ..(I always refer to him as sicko..) and she tells him.."I'm here to get my men"...or when she sticks Mal's ear in her breast and that look she gives him..

it would have been interesting to see some past scenes of Zoe and Mal like they did for Simon and River in Safe to sort of flesh out their history!! it was just one of the many things I was looking foward if the show had of continued!!

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I would like to have seen more of the Mal/Zoe backstory myself. Zoe will obviously follow Mal into Hell if he leads her there. I think it is a relationship as strong as that of River & Simon.

Obviously the War and its outcome galvanized their relationship, and he & Zoe were together after the war and when Serenity was purchased. Makes you wonder if they grew up together or not.

Uhh, Ditto. I don't remember hearing this...
I thought they knew each other FROM the war.

Where does he say that? Where does anyone say that? We don't know aught about Zoe. The earliest portion of her life that we see or hear about is the battle of Du Khang, or maybe Kashmir.

Mal said that in War Stories , when he's talking to Wash about Zoe..its when they are being at the beginning stages of being tortured and he tells Wash. he says " me and Zoe go way back even before the war and I bet your wondering what the nature of our relationship is" thats the basically what Mal said
