I've been a lurker on this board for a few years now but this is my first post of any real substance.

I was only able to attend on Sunday afternoon so I missed seeing Adam. Bummer that. I had to move into a new apartment the day before so I arrived exhausted, nearly broke, and sore as hell. I went to get an autograph about 15 minutes or so before the last Firefly panel and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. (I don't know how I lucked out that way but I did). Nathan looked tired and wired but he was still energetic and friendly as could be. He was very gracious and kind even though I know he had to have already signed a gazillion billion pictures that day.

Before DragonCon, I would have said that I'm not a star-struck person but that was before I stood next to Nathan Fillion and grinned and blushed like an idiot when he shook my hand. He smiled at me in a bemused kind of way, probably because I looked so goofy. I had my picture taken with him and the look on my face is priceless. I laugh at the picture whenever I look at it (and so does everyone else).

There was no time to stand in Jewel's line, unfortunately.

Sunday's Firefly panel was pure hilarity. Nathan Fillion is even funnier in person than he was on the show. He had the whole crowd eating out of his hand from the get-go. Jewel is just as sweet and charming in person as Kaylee, which is saying a lot, of course.

Near the end, one guy stood up to say that he'd been attending DragonCon for 18 years and that Sunday's panel had been one of the best he'd ever attended. Time was up and Nathan stood up and thanked everyone in a very sweet, sincere and heartfelt way before being escorted from the stage at laser-gun point by a gaggle of Storm Troopers.

I had a shiny time. It was worth the aggravation of the long drive and the search for a parking place and the expense. I can't wait to go back next year, after the Big Damn Movie.

Um, I meant to post this in the Thanks to Our BDHs thread but somehow I didn't. Sorry about that.
