BADGERSHAT

Hey folks--

Already covered elsewhere, but I'm bored...

For the upcoming September Shindig in NYC, I'm very heavily voting for the Peculiar Pub (for those of us who are over 21, of course-I'd not want to be accused of contributing to the delinquincy of the underage... at least not in public).

For those who don't know, the Pub DOES have a kitchen, with very limited barfood stuff (salad, burgers, chicken fingers, etc--anything that fitsin a deep fry grease well).

HOWEVER--

One does not go to the Peculiar Pub for the food, one goes for the dizzying array of beers, ales, stouts, pilsners, etc. Look at a standard sheet of looseleaf paper. Imagine 10pt text, three columns, both sides. THAT is how many beers they have, from dozens of countries.

Personal favorites--the Scottish brewery Belhaven puts out a fine ale, called Wee-Heavy... it's just a wee bit heavy, 6%alc in a giant bottle. Also, the Pub carries Samichlaus, which is Austrian, and is the world's strongest beer (something like 16% alcohol).

So, I vote for the Pub, and my Hat votes for the Pub...

I suppose it depends on the size of the pub. Like already mentioned, many of us coming in for the shindig/meetup are first-timers, and making it easy is the most important thing. This hasn't really been decided on yet, so I don't know, but I say we stick with what we already voted on, Wolf's Bay, and plan something else for next month.

Well, there's that and the fact that anyone signed up at Meetup will be notified via e-mail of where everyone is going to meet.

Also, the Meetup time is around 2 p.m. I'd like to be able to eat something of substance since traveling in from NJ will take a while.

That's just my opinion. It's up to Clandestiny to see what's going to happen, since he's the host. But I'd rather have food over beer.

ETA: Where is this pub? Is there a website?

Okay, this might sound a little crazy, but we could all meet at the Wolf's place and hang out for a while. Then, whoever is interested could head to the pub for a beer afterwards.

Is that complete FF/browncoat overload, or what?

We've done the imppossible and that makes us mighty. Mal - Serenity
