Meh. I can see a slight resemblance in mannerism, and mebbe a feature could morph into a resemblance if Mal let himself go a bit, But on the whole-it's a stretch fer me...uncle maybe, I don't think so on the dad...

I guess its just me, then. But the nose, the eyes, the eyebrows, the forehead - looks just the same to me. I have less of a resemblance to my own parents. I did a double take when the guy walked on the screen!

If Nathan Fillion gains weight in his role as author Richard Castle, he could become like real author Michael Wallis. Or better yet, Michael Wallis (born 1945) could play the role of Richard Castle's long gone father. According to the video clip from the Daily Show, Wallis is the actor who played the sheriff with the deep voice in Cars and Cars 2 - www.imdb.com/name/nm0909274/ It's not that ridiculous an idea -- real mystery writers have played themselves in cameos on Castle. Why not have a real author play the role of the father of a mystery writer?
