There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Haken, here's another item to add to the fff.net store.

Universal's gonna squeeze every dollar they can out of the Browncoats. A new edition of Serenity was released today, this time it is a combo pack of Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital copy. Amazon's current price is $12.49, which is just $2.50 more than the Blu-Ray alone and $7 cheaper than the two-disc Collector's Edition DVD.

I've gotten a pack like that before. Be warned the "digital copy" is fairly lame. It can either be downloaded to an apple device (iphone, ipod, ipad) or to windows media player. At least on the one I got. Well that's nice but what about every other phone out there that plays movies? I just ripped the dvd to the right format on my own.

Other than that if I didn't have any copy of Serenity I might consider this pack.

I wonder how good the sales would be if they said something like "with X number of sales we will greenlight a direct to dvd sequel".

Total hypothetical because they would never ever do something like that. It would just be a legal nightmare unless they said something like "greenlight subject to change at any time". Even then it would become a PR nightmare if they had to back out of it.

I'd be willing to bet that the money both FOX and Universal have made off Firefly and Serenity, both for DVD sales and TV licensing, would have easily financed a Sci-Fi Channel mini-series at least.
