So I'm surfing the IMDB today (and you should all post on the boards there... help stop the Haters!) ....

There was a debate in another thread about where, oh WHERE did anything ever say Wash's last name was Warren? And if it wasn't, is "Wash" part of his last name? Or what?

Well, on the IMDB today, under movie credits, it says....

Alan Tudyk .......... Jerry Lee "Wash" Warren.

Here we go again.

I may be wrong in my citation, but in, I think, "Our Mrs. Reynolds" after Kaylee undoes the damage caused by Saffron and restores control of Serenity to her crew, Mal says, "Nice work, Kaylee" in such a way that it's been misheard as "Nice work, Jerry Lee", and thought to be directed at Wash. So, his name is Wash Warren, but forever there will be those convinced it's Jerry Lee.

That sounds like a reasonable explanation; I'll have to go back and watch the episode, see where the potential mistake is.

I must ask, though, why is "Jerry Lee" on the cast-listing for Serenity and not for "Firefly?" I think it's too early to have people who have heard of the movie and not the TV show.

His name is Wash. Zoe's name is Zoe. That is _all_ we know about their names. There is _nothing_ in canon about their last name being Warren, and I can't even find anything out of canon about that outside of IMDB. And you can only trust IMDB as far as Giles can throw a demon.

This is all true. I AM gonna watch all my episodes just to confirm this, you understand. Nothing against you; I would have re-watched all the episodes again anyway.

How did "Warren" appear on the IMDB? Did some bored kid named Warren just put it on there, and hope no one would check it? Or did it appear on a script someplace, or on a press release?

I think the 2nd option is more likely... but if you think it's the first, I'd like to propose, here and now, that we make up a NEW last name for Wash, and see if we can get THAT to appear on the IMDB.

My vote: Timberlake.
