Okay, maybe I'm going nuts.
Pop in Dr Horrible.
In the very first scene, where he's practicing his evil laugh.
The camera stays in that position for a while.
Look in the back.
Top left corner.
In the back room.
Is that a model of Serenity hanging from the ceiling?
Or a bunch of pots and pans?

this has been much discussed around here, and i believe, if you listen to the commentaries it's there too, But it's just a coincidental arrangement of pots and pans.
but it does look an awful lot like a firefly...

I'm not positive but I think Joss even made the comment somewhere -- Whedonesque maybe -- that he didn't intend for that to happen. But they pretty much left the house the way the homeowner had it. So it's possible that he did it before production started.
And after reading a blog entry from the homeowner during filming, he strikes me as a quirky guy that might just try a stunt like that.

But I don't have any links to support any of what I just said. So......
