That would be because Sci Fi barely has an understanding of what science fiction is anymore. I barely watch the channel anymore. Once BSG is gone I will watch less.

I hear ya. That's the basic general reason why I will NOT watch any movie that I give even 2-cents'-worth of a damn about on a commercial station. Like you say, one critical line or scene, cut out or cut short, and the whole presentation's out the window.

Don't even get me started on the commercial breaks themselves...
