Hopefully it is. The success of Dr. Horrible could lend credibility and respectability to the internet as a viable story-telling medium.

Don't think any of us would mind having legal internet access to exclusive programming and quality productions. It'd also make things easier for the production crews if the internet can be used to develop a profitable business plan. Less need for middle men.
