There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

I got an email from Tamara today about some changes in the scheduling and accomodations for the Shindig in Austin on May 21-23. I also noticed that she had posted the info at the new message board at serenitymovie.net, and asked someone else to repost the info here. Not sure why she could not do so herself, but anyway, here is the text of the email I received:

Howdy y'all!

There have been a few minor changes to the Texas Shindig agenda.

Everything is going to be grand, just a slight change of venue and a slight change in organizer (not so much of a change since it was already all done for me )

Here is a note from Nonoluna:

I have to make a huge apology to all of you...I really screwed up. I totally misread the hotel information and posted the incorrect cost. Sadly, it's not in our favour. A new hotel has been found and Tamara Cook is handling that now.

For those of you who already booked, I am beyond sorry for the inconvenience of canceling and re-booking elsewhere.

I also have some good and bad news. I got a job which is good but I won't be able to get out to Austin which is bad. I really, really wanted to be there but it just isn't possible. Thankfully, Tamara has stepped up and is helping arrange things.

Again, I am so sorry for all of the confusion and hassle. I feel terrible that I mucked up but at least we have time to fix stuff.

Have fun for me while you're there!!! :-)

I think the woman is going overboard just a bit on the apologies and as we all know "life happens"! And I saw the info that the previous hotel sent to Nono and it was extremely confusing if not downright misleading.

So, I will be arranging a different hotel. It probably won't be on a lake but we won't be far from the lake and it will be much much cheaper!!

The Texas BBQ is still on for Friday night and I think I have found a fabulous caterer (one of the top five in Austin for 2003 no less) with very reasonable prices.

What band and where for Saturday is still being worked out but we will have absolutely no problems finding awesome music to listen to and to dance to in Austin!!

The train ride is also on for Saturday during the day and I am researching a good place to have brunch on Sunday.

I am having so much fun with this. Everyone on my list will be receiving emails from me shortly but, I am afraid I may be missing a couple people. So if you could check with your friends that you know are coming and maybe have them shoot me an email just to make sure I have you all on my list.

I really need a couple things to happen. Anyone who made reservations at Travis Resorts needs to cancel them and I need to get an approximate of the number of rooms we will need in total.

Can all of you please shoot me back an email telling me who is in your group and number of rooms and the number of nights.

Most rooms are going to be around 65 to 75 dollars per night and this is for anywhere from 2 to 5 people. THIS IS THE ROOM PER NIGHT CHARGE not the per person charge.

I just need to know if I am shopping for 10 rooms or 30 and I also need to know who is really coming.

If someone could forward this to LostAngel I would really appreciate it since I do not have her email.

I have this crazy expectation that everyone can shoot me back an email before end of the day on Thursday. Call me high but I will be coming after you if I don't hear back.
