Right after Sept. 30th (the rumored expiration date for the actor's contract to greenlight a sequel) there was a quote from Alan Tudik about rumblings from Universal contemplating a sequal.

Of course there was a sudden flurry of discussion on the net, and on the podcasts.

Days went by, Weeks went by... no more news.. but also no post by Joss sqealching any rumors.

But as the weeks turned into months.. the chatter seems to have died down.

Have anyone heard any other news? Is their something I missed?

Turned out to be a 'rumor' - Alan DID make the comments, but there is nothing going on so just keep on keepin' on.

If you go to www.creationent.com and click on "Creation TV" at the top, there's a highly amusing snippet from the con earlier in December with Nathan and Alan talking about who really started the rumor.

Joss probably hasn't squelched any rumors because there's nothing to squelch, what with the writer's strike, and his new show hopefully in the works. And once contracts have run out, they've run out. The only thing we'll have for the near future is the new comics. Search on the Dark Horse website (I think that's where I found) and there's a sneak peek at the new comic.

Part of the mystery at that time was that Joss wasn't clearly talking about much. That turned out to be becuse he was under gag regarding the deal he was getting for Dollhouse. When he was allowed to tell, he did.
