I know that Firefly/Serenity fans are known for their generosity but this is the time of the year to be especially generous. I know time is short so here are some ideas.

There are many ways you can do this. I've already contributed to my local Toys for Tots and the drive is over so another way you can help is find a local family and make sure they have happy holidays. You could either do this alone or with a group. Contact your local Salvation Army, church or social services organization.

Food pantries all over the country need food. Apparently there is more need than ever this year. Donations are down also. So take when you are shopping for your holiday meal put a few extra things in your basket. Just make sure that River hasn't torn the label off.

Another thing is to donate a pint of blood. There are more accidents and incidents resulting in more need for blood and donations dry up due to vacations, colds, no time etc. Contact your local Red Cross or blood donation center and take an hour.

I'm a regular blood donor due to my blood type (O neg, my type is used when there is no time to type the receipient or supplies run low)and you get free soda and cookies. Be like Wash in OOG and roll up your sleeve.

BTW he probablly would have fainted donating sitting up like he was but I'll give Joss dramatic license. No fun for us viewers if Mal, Zoe and Wash are all flat on their backs with tubes etc.

Just go DO SOMETHING to make the world a little bit better place this time of year.

Go visit someone that's alone or away from their family. This can be the most lonesome time of year. They will benefit from your gift but so will you.
