I want to post an idea for a piece of Firefly history called "The Battle of Sturgis and The Legand of the 187th." Where can I go to read the fanfics and to see if anyone else has already done this? Any and all help appreciated.

You could check recent Fic in the Blue Sun Room here: http://fireflyfans.net/sunroomitemlist.asp?s=FICTION_FICTION

But there are tons of stories there, and it would take a long time to go through it all. I suggest just posting your story in the blue sun room regardless; even if someone else had a similar idea, they will not have written it exactly as you will anyway.
