How much of the guts does Fox own until 2012 with their Ownership Rights of the Series?

Perhaps Joss could put the crew in a Dragonfly Class Ship and change some character names a bit to circumvent it and sell it to the SciFi Channel.

Is it a Concept thing or a Copywright thing?

He had to name the movie Serenity because of the whole Ownership thing of the title Firefly.

It would be funny though and would give Fox what they deserve for how they treated the series.

I'm sure Fox owns the characters and everything. I'd even hoped for a spin off for a while, but they may own at least first shot at that and I'm sure with how poorly Firefly and Serenity have done with ratings and such it's a long shot.

I think we should just be happy we're getting comics.

The thing I find interesting is that the only time they've given the rights to anyone is for a video game. It's an mmorpg that probably won't even have the main characters in it, but it's a start. I have to wonder if they would allow other games as well. I know most people consider me nuts for saying this, but games are an amazing way to tell a story.
