Between getting my Serenity blueprints and seeing something similar done with the Enterprise, I took some Google satellite images and overlayed Serenity on top of them. Very interesting, it really helps get an idea how big our favorite ship really is!

Very cool. Thanks for the fine work and posting the link. I'm often surprised at how big Serenity is when I see scale comparisons like this. The size of the ship actually seems pretty realistic when you think about how much space all that tech. requires but is different from what a lot of other sci-fi indicates (startrek/wars).

What a great idea! You really helped me "see" Serenity's size. I especially loved the pic of Serenity at the Pentagon!

Have you considered entering this in the Browncoat Wikki project? They have a really nice site about Firefly fans and their obsessions. Seems like this would fit right in!

Theyre cool.

Over at the trekbbs.com, we have been doing this kind of stuff with various different ships. Its surprising how large the scale turns out to be once over laid onto an image for comparison.

I like them. Just one thing, Serentiy looks smaller in action and on screen, though.
