Am I going crazy, or was that Jewel Staite?

I was flipping through channels yesterday and caught some of an X-files ep on the Sci-fi channel. I don't know the title, but based on the credits it was from 1995, probably Season 3.

Anyway, there's a young girl being held captive, and if my eyes aren't deceiving me it was Jewel Staite! This would've been about 7 years prior to Firefly, and I'm about 99% sure it was her (unfortunately, there was a preview for upcoming shows during the credits so I couldn't see the name).

Anybody know for sure?
