I just got out of the thing because I'm not interested in anything about it except reading Nathan and Jewel's blogs. I'm no stalker, I don't want to bother Nathan or Jewel with messages or anything, I just want to read what they have to say. Is there a way to read them without having your personal info advertised?

You don't have to give MySpace any real information besides an email address, last I checked. Or, maybe I'm not understanding the problem?

Edit: Or, if you'd rather, you can make your profile private.

Not a member of myspace. I can read Nathan's blogs that he does not set to private.
Like "Imposters, iPhones, and Jewel Staite."
Like "CLICK HERE FOR AUTOGRAPH, INTERVIEW, and ANY REQUESTS"
Like "Greetings."

OR if you click on View All Blog Entries you go to all the public readable blogs.

I also like reading the first page of comments.

Nathan hopefully will keep writing some private posts and some public ones.

For a member of myspace, there is a profile somewhere for your myspace id and you can set it private. See Jewel's myspace. She has set it to private and only her myspace friends can see the page. Maybe sometime later, she will set it to public again.

See Nathan's first friend Jeff. Jeff is Nathan's brother and at first we could read his page but now his page is set to "This profile is set to private. This user must add you as a friend to see his/her profile." Click on the pic of Jeff or Jewel's pic and you can see what would be available if you set myspace page to private.

So there is a way to set your myspace to private. Maybe there is also a way to set all contact methods off.

I'm not a real big fan of or user of myspace, yet I've got one to communicate with my kids ... did that before Nathan got his myspace, but him getting his only reinforced my use of it.

It's out and out fun to read his blogs!

You can set your myspace profile to private and also have approval over your comments before they are posted publicly. So you can avoid all or nothing on there if you so desire.

I've adjusted to using mine and grateful for it as it's been fun to keep in touch with my kids!
