"Adrienne Shelly, an actress best known for her roles in the Hal Hartley films "Trust" and "The Unbelievable Truth," was found dead in her office by her husband, her agent said Thursday.

Shelly recently wrote and directed a film called "Waitress," which starred Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion.

"She was so psyched about the film," Sheedy said. "She gathered an amazing cast, and she was really happy and excited to hear back from Sundance about it."

sad news.. but note that Sundance was interested...

This is such sad news, my heart goes out to her family for their loss. And she was so young--

Will they still play it at Sundance do you think?
Or go ahead and show it in theaters?

My condolences to her family too.. and her friends.

I have no idea about the Sundance showing, but my GUESS would be that if Sundance accepts it for screening, somehow it would go ahead and present it there. There is a lot of prestige associated with Sundance and that is where studios buy indie films for release.

It would be a wonderful credit to her work, and it would be good for Nathan too, not that that is as important in anyway with the loss to her family.

Seems as if she had an idea who she wanted to play these characters and must have liked them. So I think it being good for Nathan is ok to say, I'm sure he'll be very proud for her if it's shown at Sundance.

I read in another place that she left behind a 3 year old child. Oh, my this is such a tragedy.
