Firefly - the game?

Ok, so in the best of all worlds the show would never have been cancelled. In the next to best of worlds a feature movie is made and perhaps even a renewal of the show after that… Another medium to get the story of FF out, in my mind, is as a computer game. I wonder if that is something that’s being considered at all?

The world of computer games is desperately short of humour of any kind, imho. Can you remember the last time a computer game had you in stitches? I’m willing to bet it’s been years and years. The last game I can remember belly laughing while playing was “Monkey Island”. Just think what Whedon could do in this medium!

With Whedon behind the reigns the game in itself wouldn’t even have to be that revolutionary. You could take the same standard graphics engine that 90% of the games already use and then make it different by introducing a story that actually would make you care. It could be done! It would fill a huge void in the gaming community. Enough to make any money-grubbing exec drool and get cartoonish dollar signs in front of their eyes, me thinks…
