What kind of guy do you think Mr Universe is?

I'm working on a fic, that i hope to involve Mr Universe but i'm having a little trouble picturing what kind of guy Mr. Universe is. At times he's funny at times he's nerdy. But seriously who is he? Does anyone have any info on him, where he's from, what he does for a living, who he is? He was a great character that didn't get a chance to be explored in detail. Anyway that's my two cents worth. I appologise if this thread has been done before.

well in the movie novelization they mention his real name which I have to look up and he was a hacker who went to flight school with Wash. He was #1 but only because he hacked into the system and changed his grades. He also has other licenses and degrees but none of them truly earned. I have to re-read all the other stuff.

EDIT: Here's a quote from the book
"Wash had known him as an unhygenic young man named Mansfred Asbach."

Apparently the only name he would answer to was "Mr. Universe", he was also an ordained shepherd, a professional planet diver, and a licensed prospector.

Theres also info on how he got to be on that moon he's on and how long he's had Lenore. The book was only 6.99 at Waldenbooks.

Actually I think it mentions a name he was under in flight school, but nothing is his "real name" as he will only answer to Mr Universe.
I always wondered how he got food out there on that moon all by himself. It doesn't really go into that. But he is "qualified" for many jobs he can't actually do. He just "liked the idea" of having all these certifications and the like. Bit of an ego problem, I would say.
