I love Kung Fu more than my life, and own all the seasons on dvd(they look stunning) but I never really understood why season 1 is widescreen, as this is NOT the way it was originally aired.

Does anyone have an idea as to why Warner Brothers made an classic television show into widescreen?

One more thing. I learned recently that a Kung Fu movie(based on the show) is in production. Believe me when I say Yuck.

Nope. Although maybe it was filmed widescreen and we just didn't know it as TV's well...who knew then? The film had film look to it as opposed to what most televised programs had then.

Another one? Anyone besides me remember the one done in the 80's? Bad, bad, bad!

But then the reviived TV series Kung Fu: The Legend Continues was lots of fun, so I'll hold off judgement for now.
